Welcome to our Future Gateways Information Page for Year 8 Parents/Students
This year your child will be completing their option choices for GCSE as part of our Future Gateway process. On this page you will find important information and key dates. Students will be informed of the Future Gateways process through their assemblies. This will give students an opportunity to be informed about the process, as well as hearing about subjects they have not yet been taught.
Future Gateways Prospectus
The Future Gateways Prospectus contains information regarding the entire process, including subjects offered and the course content. Our Future Gateways Prospectus for 25-26 will be published in March.
Key dates for the diary:
- Wednesday 4th March – Year 8 Gateway Information Talk & Marketplace 4-6pm
- Thursday 5th March – Year 8 Progress Evening 4-7pm
As part of your parental meetings with staff you will be able to discuss your child’s suitability to study the subject at the next level. The evening works on an appointment system between 4:00 and 7:00pm. Your child will receive an appointment sheet closer to the date and they should make appointments with all their subject teachers.
Senior staff are available at both events to answer your Future Gateway process queries and our academy Careers Leader, Ms Fox, will be in the Heartspace to answer questions and offer advice related to your child’s future educational and career plans.
Option choices must be completed online via Microsoft Forms. Information on this process will follow closer to the time.
